Special trained Forces carry out planned operations in Lower Shabelle
The special trained army of the Somali National Army, carried out a planned operation in Mubarak area, which was the main point in the Lower Shabelle region where Al-Shabab were extorting money from the people of that region. The army killed a leader whose name was abbreviated to Arab, who was the deputy leader of the militia in Mubarak area, and about 10 other members of the militia were also injured in the attack, including Osman Daud, who was the top leader of the militia of Mubarak and another leader named Ow Maay who was in charge of fundraising for this militia.
“This operation was targeting the Terrorists Financial Center, and during the operation there were senior leaders and Terrorist militias on sight,” said the officer who spoke to the National Media.
Officials from the government also stated that civilians were being held at Al-Shabab’s financial center during the operation.
