The third filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has been completed, according to the Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP).
The announcement was made just one day after the second turbine of the dam became operational, adding 375 mw of electricity to the national grid.
EEP said the water is now flowing above the reservoir. “The dam’s height has also increased to more than 600 meters,” the same source added.
